Bald Eagle

Date: 07/07/2002

Number: 1

I live in Philadelphia and volunteer at the Marine Mammal Stranding Center in Brigantine, NJ. While at the center someone had called and reported a sighting an eagle on the golf course there. I recall wishing I had my camera. I went home that night to Philly. I soon realized I forgot my wallet in NJ. It was a blessing in disguise, for it gave me a reason to take my camera this time. The next day I loaded up on film, grabbed my gear and my girlfriend and drove 70 miles back to Brigantine. We arrived at 11:00 AM. A person at the course was more than willing to take me to see the bird, for he also wanted to see it. We arrived on the 2nd hole where he was sighted the previous day only to find he was nowhere in sight. We looked for a good 15 minutes to no avail. My girlfriend Kate taps me on the shoulder and mumbles something to the extent of "Oh My God its huge". I turned to look just as he was landing and got off a few awesome shots. He perched on a wood pylon along a water hole on 3 hole
