All my monarch chrysali emerged during the last 2 weeks. I hatched 24 succesfully this year. It is amazing to me how few caterpillars I have found. Normally I find the caterpillars, but this year unless I found the egg I hardly found anything. I found 4 as caterpillars and the other 20 were eggs.
Also there were lots of places on the milkweed where you could tell a caterpillar had hatched, but only one small chewed hole with a glob of whitish stuff at the lower end of the small hole and no caterpillars. Very few compared to the last few years.
