Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 09/02/2002

Number: 1

After hardly seeing a single monarch all summer, we are just now beginning to see adults laying eggs, and have found a few caterpillars. This is later than usual, and the numbers are well below normal. We're hoping to be able to tag a few, anyway. Other teachers are having an equally difficult time. In 5 years of looking, this is the worst year on the coast of Maine.
