the female monarch layed her eggs about 4 weeks ago - first monarch all summer-we brought in about 60 eggs and so far have raised, tagged and released our first ones- yesterday we released 10 monarchs in our butterfly gardens-a cold front came through yesterday -high 80's, lows at nite in 60's -we assume these monarchs will begin migration-don't know if they will stay around here for awhile and lay more eggs or what -our whole school is involved this year with raising them-25 teachers are partcipating-milkweed garden planted last spring is thriving -common, showy, tropical, butterfly weed, swamp -many many aphids and ants are on plants-milkweed bugs on pods-bad drought this year-look forward to watching over next weeks
