Today was the last day I saw any hummingbirds coming to my feeders. This year a few stayed about a ten days longer than the previous two years when all were gone by Labour Day. I think there was only one left and I saw her coming to the feeder right up until nightfall. The next morning was the coldest so far this fall, 35F and I saw no sign of her then or for the rest of the day. The sudden cold tempetature must have convinced her it was time to go in search of warmer climates. I observed the first male rubythroat on May 9th.
