When leaving my house Monday to go to school, I noticed that my milkweed was bare except for the stalks. I found 7 monarch caterpillars really enjoying themselves. I brought them to school and we have been feeding them more milkweed from our butterfly garden. We plan to release them after they hatch. This is the first time we have found monarch caterpillars in our garden.
