We have had some Monarchs in our Butterfly House at the Vistor Interpretive Center at Paul Smiths, New York, this summer, but far fewer than usual. Thanks to many people gathering caterpillars, we have had many chrysalids and were able to release some adults when the season ended on Labor Day. A total of about 50 were tagged this year. Although most of us have seen very few Monarchs all summer, many of us have seen a few around our houses in the last week. We tell them all which way is South!
