Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 09/22/2002

Number: 1

This evening my wife and I counted 15 Monarchs. The most we have
ever seen since we have been living here. We live 12 miles west of Minco OK. They are roosting in our Cedar trees for the night.
The word got out that we have food and water for them.

As of September 26: We see 15 to 20 a day at least, if not more, from daylight to dark. We
can't tell if they are new ones each day, they are definintly roosting in
our trees, we saw them roosting in our oak and cedar trees tonight. Some are
feeding on our butterfly bushes, and some keep on flying right on by. We
also have sources of water, and other plants that may possibly attract them.
We will be looking for them tomorrow. We have 10 acres mostly wooded and
wild.
