Observations of Alan Wormington of Point Pelee Provincial Park, forwarded by Don Davis from the Ontario Birds Hotline:
"This afternoon (Sunday, September 29) there was a massive migration of Monarchs in progress at Point Pelee, with hundreds leaving the Tip on a constant basis. The situation suggests that there should be a massive overnight concentration at the Tip."
Point Pelee, a 10-kilometre sandspit
stretching into Lake Erie, is world famous for its seasonal migrations of birds and monarch butterflies.
