Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/10/2002

Number: 1

I was on the Panama City Beach last week and saw hundreds of Monarchs washed up, dead on the shoreline. We walked .7 mile to the pier from our hotel, and there were probably 25 per yd on the beach. I did not see any flying. I figured they must have had trouble as a group while migrating. The weather was beautiful when we encountered them, no rain at all, mild temperatures and slight breezes. We saw them in Panama City Beach, FL on the 10th of October, 2002. Can you comment on this please??
