At the end of August we had about ten monarch caterpillars at our school that we watched turn into butterflies. The week after Labor Day we observed a butterfly bush everyday and watched about a dozen tiny caterpillars quickly grow and turn into chystalis. Only 2 remained on the bush but we watched those turn into butterflies and fly off. Since then we have noticed a monarch about twice a week. Today, Oct. 16 we saw two monarchs.
