This past week has been a good one for monarchs traveling
through Louisiana.
A cold front came through on October 13. On October 15 I began noticing a few monarchs visiting my garden. Each day the butterflies persisted. Yesterday, October 19, I rode my bicycle for about 2 hours covering about 4 miles and noticed approximately 15 monarchs sailing about. Their general flight direction was southward.
This influx of individuals has been the highest I have seen this year.
