Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 10/25/2002

Number: 1

For about a month, there have been 1-2 Monarchs a day feeding in my back yard, all looking freshly hatched. Once there were 4. Seems to be about the same as last year. But maybe we don't get all that many anyway. And maybe some of these are on their way to central & south Florida to overwinter--or would those be coming down the East Coast?

I was away in mid-September, and when I returned, all my milkweeds were stripped. I hope my back yard furnished a few Monarchs for continuing the migration south.
