My teaching partner Paul Harvey and I teach Physical Education to grades 1 - 5. In the fall, we run a unit where we have an "Insect Safari", a day in which the students hunt for insect/animal life out on our Nature Trail. We have about 60 acres of field/forest/meadows in which to observe nature at it's best. We would like to expand our unit for year round observations.
>Our Technology Dept. made us aware of Journey North and we thought that it could enhance our unit. We observed Monarchs this past fall (2002) and the students were so excited! We have the perfect habitat in which to study the Monarchs. We hope to include the Science teachers in our study.
