My life science students planted 100 tulips today in the border of our butterfly and bird garden. The garden is located just outside our classroom with a floor length panel window. A parent brought her tiller and prepared the soil and assisted the class in measuring and planning the planting. We have experienced an enormous amount of rainfall and colder temperatures than normal, making it hard to prepare the soil. She also brought her bulb planter which allowed students to work quicker. Groups of 4 students were allowed to plant at a time. The garden will be beautiful in the spring.
