Having planted our tulips on October 15th and expecting them to emerge in the spring, we were surprised to find some green sprouting up above the ground level in the first week of November. Now, however the ground is covered with about 4 inches of snow, so all we see is white. It will be interesting to see if the fall-sprouted plants do as well as the non-fall- sprouted ones in the spring.
