We heard (peektut), then saw two robins up in a mayday tree. They sang a bit more, then flew over to another tree. I'd be more surprised, except I've seen a few in the winter before, though usually during a longer warm spell. The temperature yesterday was about 20 degrees F. Also, we have had an extremely warm winter. Our first real snow was December 12 or so. On only a few days has our temperature gone below the average low for that date. Many rivers are over a month late in freezing. I'm mostly concerned about the effect that will have on salmon migration, but perhaps birds have been disrupted also.
