Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 01/06/2003

Number: 1

We had about 4 inches of snow on 1/5/03. On the morning of 1/6/03 I noticed one robin outside my window perched on a snowy tree branch. Then I looked beyond the branch to my neighbor's roof where at least 20 robins had gathered. To my astonishment, there were hundreds, if not thousands, of robins flying from tree to tree all around our neighborhood. I stood in the middle of my snow-covered lawn taking photo after photo of this bewildering phenomenon. What a sight...the red breasts against the white, snowy, tree limbs, not to mention, the sounds of the chirping and the wings fluttering that filled the air! It was truly an unforgettable experience. The birds stayed all day but did not reurn on the following morning.
