In the past few days I have been observing flocks of geese, Canadian geese, heading north from somewhere, but passing through here. A flock of at least fifty landed in a harvested cornfield just last night on my way to town. I watched them circle and circle and then land for the evening in th field. They were heading north before landing, and it is, for me, a sign of spring. Our winters are not that hard here, but spring is always welcomed after even a few times of snow and some cool dips in the temperature. Katie Wright, New London, Missouri
