Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 01/29/2003

Number: 1

It's 5 pm and, just like every other day for the past three weeks, several thousand Robins have landed in the neighborhood. Today they arrived from the North and soon after alighting in the tree branches they began dropping onto lawns and pastures. They march along by the hundreds, stop and stand at attention, bob their heads to the ground to grab a worm, then off they march again. They chatter and chirp sporadically as they hurriedly fill their bellies in a race with the setting sun. By 5:45 they will be tucked in the tree branches for the night.
