Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 01/13/2003

Number: 1

I didn't see these robins myself. Our local paper published a story on January 29, 2003 of two local birders who have been surprised at the number of robins in their yards. Apparently, they have been feeding on the abundant mountain ash berries, rose buds and frozen apples. It has been a hard winter already with more snow than we've had in years. One birder reported that the robins did not come in the fall in the usual large numbers but came in January instead. She has been seeing the robins since January 13, usually 10-15 and once there was a flock of about 200.
