Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 02/03/2003

Number: 1

Yesterday around 4:15 p.m. I saw 10 or 12 robins in an area near our home which has many trees and shrubs and is quite leafy with fallen leaves. Some were hopping around on our ground and some were in the trees. As our dog approached the ones on the ground flew up into the trees and then they all flew off. This is the earliest I have seen robins on our property which is nine miles south of Ypsilanti which is in a rural area. We have many trees and shrubs and a more wild area with a stream. Robins have been known to overwinter at the Arb at the University of Michigan which is 12 miles northwest of us.

It was interesting that last evening after seeing the robins I found the message on Journey North ab out the robin count.
