Visited Several overwintering sites along to way to Natural Bridges near Santa Cruz, CA. First stop San Leandro Golf Course, Alameda. Didn't see any Momarchs there. Second Stop, Ardenwood Reg. Preserve Alameda. Saw Lots of Monarchs High in the Eucalyptus trees, Many were mating & depositing eggs on milkweeds near by. Third Stop, New Park Mall. Saw just 2-3 Monarchs flying about. Fourth stop Natural Bridges St. Beach. Saw Many Monarchs there flying & mating Temps were about 68-70 degrees. Fifth stop Lighthouse Field St. Beach. saw many Monarchs flying, basking, nectaring & mating. Seemed to be more here than at Natural Bridges.
