The week of October 28, 2002, approximately 130 third grade students planted 150 Red Emperor tulips in the raised beds outside the third grade wing at McKnight Elementary School. Parents volunteered to help. This is the 3rd year we have participated in Journey North's tulip project. Each year we have planted the tulips in different areas of the Wonder Garden that surrounds our school. The fifth graders will keep an eye on the the tulips they planted in the front of the school 2 years ago.
Fourth graders check on the bed under the oak at the side of our building and now the third graders will report the day our tulips emerge. I have pictures of the day we planted on our school's website or you can email me at monarch117@attbi.com.
