Robin (First SEEN)

Date: 02/10/2003

Number: 1

We do have a few over wintering Robins here. I am curious about their behavior pattern because I do not see them very often but regularly enough to feel certain they do overwinter in small numbers. Robins have often led me, quite literally walking in front of me and looking back, down new forest paths on hikes. They have always been the traditional harbinger of Spring and wishes fulfilled to me. I have had the privilege of raising a fallen baby, barely feathered to release and having him return year after year, eventually settling a family on the hill where I lived. He was a frequent visitor, sitting just beyond reach off the back porch with us, especially when we read stories aloud on summer evenings. I know you didn't ask for this information but I suppose I am bursting to share the special joy robins have been in my life!
