Despite deep snow, this is a better than usual year for wintering robins in south-east Ontario. These are not migrants, and have been using red cedar berries and other berries.
Today I saw 4 American Robins t home in Kingston Ontario on the St, Lawrence river, feeding on buckthorn and another 4 at Kingston Mills just a few km north of here also at Buckthorn. Also saw a flock of 6 robins fly over a cedar swamp near Kingston today.
