Robins have been numerous in this area since early November. Feeder watch counts this year include: 11/10/02 - 70 robins; 11/17/02 - 17; 11/24/02 - 12; 12/01/02 - 40; 12/08/02 - 30; 12/15/02 - 12; 12/22/02 - 59; 12/29/02 - 30; 01/05/03 - 55; 01/12/03 - 125; 01/20/03 - 26; 01/26/03 - 42. Robins have been observed feeding on fruit/seeds from Chinese Tallow-tree (Sapium sebiferum), China-berry (Melia azedarach) and the wide-spread Ashe Juniper (Juniperus ashei). There were no robins in this area last year (2002); but were much more abundant in 2001 (by a factor of 2).
