Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 01/22/2003

Number: 1

On January 22, 2003 my class released three monarch butterflies (all males). The monarchs we raised were wild. We removed the caterpillars from milkweed in our school butterfly garden. We had more caterpillars, but we ran out of milkweed. I have not seen a monarch since we had a cold front come through. Our milkweed froze. We're eagerly waiting for the returning monarchs in March. Mrs. Catledge's third and fourth grade class
