Bald Eagles are present all year round in the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario/Michigan area. At present there are two adult and two immature Bald Eagles utilizing food resources and habitat along the St. Mary's River within the City limits. Bald Eagle migration during the spring can be spectacular. Last Spring during a one hour river survey in late March I counted 39 Bald Eagle along a 1km stretch of the river. In the fall it is not uncommon to see at least one Bald Eagle everyday between September and November.
