It seems that the robins are really large in number this year. I know I was seeing a wave of about 100 in our yard in early January before I started counting, and I didn't notice the date. They must see the worm movement and clean an area and then more come into the same area when they see more movement under the grass. They don't like overgrown areas, and are not partial to land under pine trees, tho' pecan groves seem to be a pretty good choice.

Next year I will start earlier and keep a better track.
