Heard from our neighbor (a birder) that many bald eagles were sighted on 3/8/03, where the Croton River empties into the Hudson River. Went to look ourselves this AM, but did not see any. We had seen one back in the fall (November?) at Tallman Park in Piermont, NY, about 12 miles south of Croton-on-Hudson, other side of the river. It was amazing to see - we were walking along the trails that top the Palisades, overlooking the Piermont marsh area, and all of a sudden, whoosh, it flew out from the rocks below us. Off it soared towards Yonkers, of all places.
