I saw 2 Robins in my backyard. This always lifts my spirits as I know spring is not far behind. Also the Plovers or Killdeer have returned in small numbers. I live on 16 acres in the middle of 300 acres of flat farmland. There are only small patches of trees around here but I am planting windbreaks and shelters for more birds. I can watch my bird feeders from my dining room window. I feed a lot of sparrows but I also get Humming Birds and Goldfinches on occaision.
