What a winter it has been. Deer which we normally do not see much over the winter months have been wintering by the house. With the snow so deep {we had 32 inches Christmas Day} and staying cold they've been pruning the buds from the maple trees for food. Now that the sun is getting warmer the sap is hanging like little icecyles at the end of the branches where they nibbled. They have done a good job pruning,so I will have time for other spring time chores. The only thing hot outside this winter has been the male Cardinal who has been at the feeder on a regular bases.
