Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/16/2003

Number: 1

Just sighted the first adult monarch of the season. It appeared to be very faded but not tattered, and flying in a southern direction about seven feet above the ground. The area's native milkweed has just started to emerge this past week. So far I haven't seen any plants large enough to lay eggs on.
