For those watchers of the Texas Gulf Coast, I just encountered 5 fresh as a daisy monarchs while I was traveling to the grocery store in Texas City on the Upper Texas Coast. No direction noted. I will try to drive around our area today to get an idea of just about how many are our overwintering insects and maybe, just maybe I will be able to get an idea of how many worn adults are laying eggs when our vacationers show up.
