the unusal warm st. patrick's day, melted our last snow from the site of our second planting at clifton high school, to reveal the tops of our first tulips. we did not expect to see any tulips up in that area as our first emerging plants because it is an open area that had been covered with extra snow from the plows, but there they were in all their glory to encourage us that the long cold winter was ending.
