Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/18/2003

Number: 1

First springtime monarch sighted in Tallahassee on 16 March 03; a second sighting--and capture--on 18 March. The captured monarch was a well-worn female busily laying eggs on A. currisavica in pots. The monarch was released after she was tagged. Within minutes she returned to the milkweed and continued to lay eggs: eleven counted so far.
