First Monarch sighting at the Stengl Station yesterday (3/16), a female. This is slightly ahead of the appearances of the last couple of years (3/26 in 01 and 3/19 in 02). The Stengl "Lost Pines" Biology Station is located at approx. 30° 04' 51" N latitude and 97° 10' 23" W longitude near Smithville, Texas (about 50 miles east and south of Austin).
