"I began seeing monarchs at our place north of Rio Grande City on March 5," reported Arturo Miralejos to Mike Quinn, Texas Monarch Watch
Said Mike, "I believe Arturo's may be the first US migrant report. Monarch eggs (presumably laid on March 5) could have become early 5th (or 4th) instar larvae in 13 days, couldn't they? That would mean the larvae seen on March were laid by an early migrant.
"I shot a photo of this worn female along the Rio Grande on Feb 13th back in 1998."
