Tulips EMERGED

Date: 03/18/2003

Number: 1

The tulips in the garden at the Schenectady County Public Library have finally emerged now that the snow has melted. Twenty children and 15 parents walked out to the spot where we had planted the tulips so many months ago and saw "green life" coming from the ground. Our programs at the library this year have focused on the garden during each season and this time we featured SPRING. We enjoyed boiling some maple sap on the very same day as we saw our tulips had emerged. We were delighted to put a dot on the map for our garden. We hope our garden will encourage other libraries across North America to plant a Journey North Tulip Garden and promote science literacy for everyone!
