We spotted our first monarch of the season while working in our outdoor classroom during our lunch break. It did not stay long, but looked healthy and was flying well. It appeared to be an older adult because it was rather dull in color. There are not many flowers blooming in our area yet because of some repeated cold spells with rain and some ice. We have had freeze warnings for our area the past two nights, but today is warm and sunny with the wind coming from the southwest.
