The tulips in our control garden emerged March 20. The high temperature that was 67 degrees. After a cold winter the temperatures the past 2 weeks have been warmer than normal. There were 75 growing degree units through March 19th. We had some tulips planted next to the school building emerge March 10th. The soil temperature next to the building was consistently 10 degrees warmer than the temperature in the control garden.
