All Other Signs of Spring

Date: 03/28/2003

Number: 1

In addition to some of the usual residents (Kingfisher, Mockingbird, GB Heron, etc.) there were definite signs of Spring. As well as the other common migrants which have shown up recently, I saw the first Flicker and Phoebe. Also seen was a groundhog, which species is becoming very rare around here, and a pair of muskrats, which were quite frisky.
A couple of "Woolly Bear" caterpillars crossed the trail.
