Middle Bass Island is in Lake Erie part of the Bass chain of islands-south of Pelee and 4m from mainland. Around 1:00pm we observed two mature bald eagles sitting on the airport runway. Beautiful white heads, brown body, good size.
As we stopped to observe they took off circling overhead. We have not observed any nest sites in the surrounding woods.
