Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 04/07/2003

Number: 1

My feeder has been up since March 8th and today two hummingbirds visted them for the first time, that I saw. Yesterday I thought I heard one while reading on the porch, but when I turned he/she was gone. They are a real joy to watch. They generally set up a schedule of 10:30, 12:30 and 4:30 for feeding. Beautiful as they are ours don't share very well. They are very possessive and we seldom see more than two at a time at each feeder. ( We have three feeders in the back of our home and hummer attracting flowers in both the front and back.) We're so glad our hummers are back, we've missed them.)
