Last year I didn't see one Monarch. We don't seem to have any milkweed around. I was going to ask my cousin from Connecticut to send me some milkweed seeds so I could try to grow some here. My friend's husband is with the NC Wildlife program and they planted milkweed around the center of the state but it didn't grow very well. When I lived in Connecticut, I raised some Monarchs in my kitchen and saw all the eggs turn into beautiful butterflies. I had lots of milkweed growing right in my own yard. Unless I see some milkweed growing I know I won't see any Monarchs this year either.
