The Mississippi College Ecology class checked 100 Asclepias viridis plants this afternoon at the Choctaw Trails site in southwest Jackson. 43 total eggs and 3 larvae were found with 41 on the lower leaf surface, 2 on the upper leaf surface, 2 on the flower buds and 1 on the stem. Milkweed stems ranged in length from 2 cm to 22 cm but no eggs or larvae were found on stems less than 6.5 cm in length.
