In the early evening, something was flying between suburban woods and street lights. By its erratic flight and a quick glimpse in the light, it was a bat. I think most of the bats around here are little brown bats, which hibernate. This is an early observation, but it was quite warm that day. However, Chicago-area weather changes quickly. The next day there was snow.
