I saw one monarch this morning cross the road on my way to school. It was too far away to determine the sex, or the condition. It has been a disappointing spring this year. After having seen millions of monarchs in Mexico, to come home and see only one. By now I usually have a bunch of larvae munching away. I put several milkweed plants out to attract any passing females, but so far no eggs.
