This afternoon at Choctaw Trails we estimated milkweed (Asclepias viridis) density at 1.45 plants per square meter and stem lengths are now up to 25 cm in with many in later floral bud. Monarch eggs are still abundant and some 1st through 3rd instar larvae are present. Two adults were attempting to oviposit but seemed to struggle against the strong wind.
